Siemens Ltd — Financial Snapshot & Strategic Moves

SIEMENS
Recent Performance In Q3 FY2025, Siemens India’s net profit slipped to ₹423 crore, down about 3.1% year-on-year. Its revenue grew around 15.5% in the same quarter. Other income was weaker, which partly dragged profitability. Operating profit stood around ₹454 crore. Order Book & Growth Drivers Despite the dip in profit, Siemens India saw strong order growth: in one quarter, new orders rose ~44% to ~₹5,305 crore, driven by demand in mobility and smart infrastructure projects. Over the medium term, the company is benefiting from public infrastructure capex, metro/rail projects, electrification, and urban infrastructure development. Demerger / Restructuring Siemens India is in the process of demerging its energy business into a separate listed entity (Siemens Energy India). Post-demerger, Siemens Ltd will focus on smart infrastructure, digital and industrial segments, while the power generation/energy business will be handled by the new entity. Outlook & Risks If private capex and infrastructure spending pick up, Siemens’ segments like mobility, smart infrastructure, and electrification could see sustained growth. Risks include slowdown in infrastructure budget, execution risk in large projects, weakening other income, and competitive pressures in technology, automation, and digital solutions. The timing, success, and market reception of the demerger will be important to monitor — it could unlock value if done cleanly, but also bring transitional challenges.
