Astral Tanks 8% After Profit Slumps, Margins Squeeze — Four Years of Flat Returns

ASTRAL
shares tumbled over 8% on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, after the company reported a 33% drop in Q1 profit along with narrowing margins across its key businesses. The Plumbing business EBITDA margin fell 150 basis points YoY, while the Paints & Adhesives segment saw a sharper 280-basis-point decline, reflecting rising costs and weaker operating leverage. The sharp selloff also underlines a worrying long-term picture — in over four years, Astral has delivered zero or negative returns, with the stock now trading at ₹1,270, below its ₹1,301 close on 8 March 2021. From its all-time high of ₹2,453 in June 2024, the counter has plunged over 48% in just 14 months, wiping out significant investor wealth. The latest drop comes amid concerns over slowing demand, margin compression, and lack of earnings momentum. With sentiment turning sharply negative and technical charts showing persistent weakness, traders may eye further downside if the stock fails to find support at current levels. Technically, the zone between ₹1,234 and ₹1,186 may act as a crucial support in the near term. Disclaimer: This document is prepared by SEBI RRA (Reg.
