Bharti Airtel's Q1 Cheers Fade: Early 3% Rally Turns into Midday Decline

shares surged as much as 3% in morning trade on August 5 after the company reported a robust set of Q1 earnings. Consolidated net profit jumped 37.3% YoY to ₹8,167.4 crore, while revenue rose 18.4% to ₹58,539.1 crore. EBITDA increased 19.3% to ₹33,599 crore, with EBITDA margin expanding to 57.4% from 56.9% a year ago. The company's Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) also improved to ₹264 from ₹250, reflecting stronger customer monetisation. However, the initial optimism faded as the session progressed.
