Bulls Lose Grip After Gap-Up Opening; Nifty Slips Below 24,850 🚨

Markets started Thursday, 4th September, on a strong note with a 260+ point gap-up in Nifty, but the optimism faded quickly. By 10:45 AM, 24 out of 50 Nifty stocks traded in the red, as bulls lost grip within the first 90 minutes. The open equaled the high, and Nifty slipped below 24,850 in the first 5 minutes, extending losses to a day’s low of 24,804.

SBILIFE
led the declines, tanking nearly 4% from the day high, followed by
TATACONSUM
, down 3.8% from the today’s high, and making it the top loser down (~1.89%). On the other hand,
M&M
emerged the top gainer, surging over 5% and sustaining gains, offering some cushion to the index. Despite the broader indices starting green, weakness across heavyweights dragged sentiment lower. On the sectoral front, the Auto index, Nifty Consumption, and FMCG led the early rally, supported by strong moves in consumption-oriented names. However, Nifty IT turned out to be the top loser, dragging sentiment lower. Data till 10:45 AM, 4th Sept 2025. 📌 Disclaimer: This content is for information only and not investment advice.
