🚢 Cochin Shipyard Jumps 7% Intraday on Big Navy Boost

Limited surged over 7% intraday on 17 Feb 2026 after the state-run shipbuilder emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major Indian Navy project. The stock eventually closed 3% higher, snapping a four-session losing streak.
In a post-market filing on February 16, the company confirmed it has been declared L1 by the Ministry of Defence for constructing five Next Generation Survey Vessels (NGSV), with an estimated order value of around ₹5,000 crore. Final contract award remains subject to completion of formalities.
Earlier, the company also secured an order from Polestar Maritime Ltd. for two Green Tugs under the GTTP initiative.
