Early Pressure on D-Street: IT, Metal, Pharma Drag Indices Lower

As of 9:50 AM on 7th July 2025, the broader market witnessed some pressure with the Nifty 50 slipping from early highs and trading slightly negative, down nearly 20 points. The Bank Nifty also saw weakness, declining by over 100 points. Sectoral performance remained mixed, with notable pressure seen in IT, Metal, and Pharma indices — each down around 0.5% in morning trade. This early decline in key sectors contributed to the subdued sentiment across the broader market. While FMCG stocks continued to show relative strength, selling in rate-sensitive and export-oriented sectors weighed on the indices during the initial hours of Monday’s session. On the stock-specific front,

HINDUNILVR
emerged as the top gainer on the Nifty 50, rising nearly 2%. In contrast,
BEL
was the top loser, down more than 2%, adding to the drag on the broader market.
