IOC Q4 Results: Strong Profit Boost, But Is the Rally Sustainable?

Indian Oil Corporation (

IOC
) posted a 50% YoY surge in standalone net profit to ₹7,265 crore in Q4 FY25, driven by inventory gains and strong domestic sales. However, revenue slightly dipped to ₹2.18 lakh crore from ₹2.20 lakh crore YoY. Despite the profit jump and a ₹3 per share final dividend, the sustainability of the rally is under question. The stock hit its highest level since December 17, 2024, with ₹145.10 emerging as a potential resistance. As on 2 Apr, 2025 prices up 3.93% ahead of the Q4 result. Currently, shares are up ~29% from the 52-week low but still down ~23% from the 52-week high. While short-term momentum is strong, largely news-driven gains could face resistance unless supported by sustained earnings growth and broader market sentiment.
