Markets End Week on a Sour Note; Nifty, Bank Nifty Hit Multi-Month Lows

On August 8, 2025, the final trading session of the week saw bears tighten their grip as benchmark indices extended their losing streaks. The Nifty fell 0.95% or 232.85 points, marking its lowest close since May 12 and sixth straight weekly loss. The Bank Nifty slipped 0.93% or 515 points, closing at its lowest since May 26, and now down 4.72% from its recent peak. All Bank Nifty constituents ended in the red, led by

INDUSINDBK
(-3%), while heavyweights like
HDFCBANK
(-1%) and
ICICIBANK
(ninth straight fall) weighed heavily. Among the Nifty50,
NTPC
(+1.5%) and
TITAN
(+1.38%) stood out as rare gainers. Persistent selling and weak sentiment continue to dominate the broader market mood. Disclaimer: This document is prepared by SEBI RRA (Reg.
