NOVARTIND Surges on Pfizer Deal; Pfizer Hits 52-Week Low

Novartis India gained sharply after acquiring Minipress from Pfizer for ₹1,250 crore, while Pfizer extended its losing streak and hit a 52-week low. Novartis India Ltd. (NSE: NOVARTIND) is in focus after acquiring the Minipress and Minipres trademarks in India, along with related intellectual property rights, from Pfizer Inc. and Pfizer Products Inc. for ₹1,250 crore. The company's Board approved the transaction on September 7, 2026, followed by the execution of an asset purchase agreement and trademark assignment deeds with Pfizer. Following the announcement, Novartis India shares gained around 48% over the past three trading sessions and ended Thursday 11% higher at ₹2,425.20. On an intraday basis, the stock's three-session rally reached 57.89%. In contrast, Pfizer Ltd. (NSE:

PFIZER
) remained under pressure. The stock declined around 11% over the past three trading sessions, falling 1.81% on Thursday and extending its losing streak to six consecutive sessions. During the session, Pfizer touched a fresh 52-week low of ₹4,080. According to IQVIA MAT July 2026 data, Minipress XL generated revenue of ₹228.6 crore and recorded a four-year CAGR of 6.3%, compared with 9% growth for its category. Minipress XL, containing prazosin, is prescribed for the treatment of hypertension and urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
