Paytm Opens Higher but Gains Fade After RBI Nod for Aggregator License
One 97 Communications (
PAYTM
) saw a 1.4% gap-up opening today, but earlier gains gradually eroded, with the stock trading up around 0.4% at 2:30 PM. The initial enthusiasm came after the Reserve Bank of India granted a Certificate of Authorization to Paytm Payments Services, enabling it to operate as a Payment Aggregator under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act. Despite the positive regulatory milestone, intraday profit-booking weighed on the stock’s momentum.
