SBI Beats Estimates, Extends Winning Run on Strong Q1 Performance

) delivered a strong set of Q1 numbers, exceeding Street expectations on profitability, core income growth, and asset quality. Net profit increased 10.2% YoY to ₹21,121 crore, while net interest income (NII) rose 15% to ₹46,992 crore. Asset quality improved further, with gross NPA declining to 1.47% and net NPA easing to 0.38%, reflecting healthy balance-sheet strength.
The market reacted positively to the earnings announcement, with SBI shares surging up to 3.64% intraday on 7 August 2026. The stock eventually settled with a gain of 1.12%, marking its third consecutive winning session. Notably, SBI has closed higher in seven of the last eight trading sessions, highlighting sustained buying interest and positive investor sentiment.
