Tata Steel Rises as Capacity Plans Take Center Stage

As on 11 Dec 2025,

TATASTEEL
surged over 2.5% as the Board approved a 4.8 MTPA capacity expansion at Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL), marking Phase 1 of its long-products portfolio strengthening. The company also cleared plans for a 0.7 MTPA Hot Rolled Pickling and Galvanizing Line at the Tarapur Cold Rolling Complex in Maharashtra. Another key update was the Board’s approval to acquire a 50.01% stake in Thriveni Pellets (TPPL) for ₹636 crore. Notably, the stock had posted five consecutive negative weekly closes, and this week too began with weakness. Today, however, it marked its second consecutive positive daily close, reflecting a shift from the earlier pressure. 📌 Disclaimer: This content is for information only and not investment advice.
