Concord Biotech Approves 1:1 Bonus Issue

Concord Biotech Limited

CONCORDBIO
has approved its maiden 1:1 bonus share issue, alongside raising authorised share capital to Rs 22 crore from Rs 11 crore. The decision follows a USFDA inspection at its Unit II Valthera facility that closed with only one minor procedural observation. Paid up share capital will rise from Rs 10.46 crore to Rs 20.92 crore after the bonus allotment, doubling the outstanding share count. The USFDA audit at Valthera concluded on September 18, 2026, with just one minor procedural observation, a clean outcome for an export-facing facility. In Q1 FY27, consolidated revenue grew 26% year on year to Rs 257.5 crore, net profit rose 31% to Rs 57.7 crore, and EBITDA rose 34% to Rs 82.4 crore, a 32% operating margin. API revenue grew 42% to Rs 218.9 crore, while formulation revenue fell 23% to Rs 38.6 crore. The bonus issue itself does not change underlying value, it is a non-cash action that simply splits existing equity into more shares. The bigger swing factor in the numbers is the split within Q1 FY27 itself, API revenue up 42% against formulation revenue down 23%, which tells you the API business, the higher margin, higher barrier segment, is carrying the quarter while formulations remains inconsistent. I am watching shareholder approval of the bonus and capital increase at the EGM, the formal USFDA clearance letter for Valthera, and whether formulation revenue stabilises in Q2 FY27. This is a shareholder-friendly action backed by genuinely strong API-led earnings, though formulation volatility is worth tracking separately. I am watching over a 3 to 12 month horizon through EGM approval.
