KSB bags ₹85 crore ONGC order for seven injection pumps
KSB Limited (NSE: KSB)
KSB
has won an order worth about ₹85 crore from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The job is to replace seven main injection pumps.
What happened: The order covers seven main injection pumps, which are high-pressure units used in offshore energy work. It adds to the ₹2,584.8 crore of orders on hand that KSB reported at Q1 CY2026. That order book is close to 96% of CY2025 sales of ₹2,696 crore, which grew 6.42% year-on-year.
Why it matters: The ₹85 crore order is about 3.2% of annual sales. On its own it will not move earnings much. The value is in the pattern. In September 2026, KSB also won an export contract from Dangote Projects Free Zone Enterprise for a boiler feed pump package. One domestic PSU order and one export order within weeks point to demand on both sides.
My view: Replacement orders from a PSU buyer like ONGC tend to repeat as platform equipment ages. That keeps the backlog full, and a full backlog gives revenue visibility for the coming quarters. What I can’t see yet is margin. The order margin and delivery schedule are not disclosed, so I would not assume this order lifts profitability. I read it as a positive for revenue visibility, not yet for margins.
What I’m watching: Execution on the pump packages, since delays or material shortages would push revenue out. Input costs for key raw materials, which can squeeze operating margin. Further orders from state owned energy and power companies. The order book in KSB’s next quarterly update.
