NTPC and Mahagenco finalize agreement for Sinnar Thermal Power acquisition

and Mahagenco executed a shareholder agreement to acquire Sinnar Thermal Power Ltd (STPL), a 1,350 MW coal-based thermal power plant, at ₹3,800.14 crore. The consortium paid ₹3,800.14 crore and will hold 100% of STPL's shareholding. Acquisition is expected to complete by February 26, 2026, increasing NTPC's total installed capacity to 86,987 MW.
