NTPC Green adds 56.7 MW wind, hits 10,977 MW total

has declared commercial operation of an additional 56.7 MW of wind capacity in Gujarat, split between 6.3 MW at Vanki and 50.4 MW at Jamjodhpur. This takes the group's total installed capacity to 10,977.23 MW. The 6.3 MW addition at Vanki is the project's fourth part-capacity commissioning, following a 9.45 MW segment at the same site declared operational just three days earlier, on September 19, 2026. Before this latest addition, group capacity stood at 10,920.53 MW. Both new blocks fall under the 1,050 MW wind component of a 500 MW round-the-clock power supply model with REMCL. What stands out here is the pace and structure of commissioning, not the size of any single block. NTPC Green is bringing capacity online in small, staggered tranches rather than waiting for entire projects to finish, which lets each completed segment start earning as soon as it is ready, rather than sitting idle. For a company targeting 60 GW of green capacity by 2032, this phased execution discipline matters more than any single 50 or 60 MW addition, since it is a repeatable pattern rather than a one-off milestone. The risk worth watching is that Gujarat remains the dominant geography for this pipeline, so seasonal wind variability in Kutch and Jamnagar, and any grid curtailment if transmission does not keep pace with these additions, are real constraints on how much of this capacity actually converts into dispatched power. I am watching quarterly generation and dispatch data from these newly commissioned Gujarat units, and progress on the remaining capacity under the REMCL round-the-clock supply model. This is a steady, incremental positive that adds to a longer execution track record rather than a standalone catalyst.
