TATASTEEL
has obtained interim protection from the Orissa High Court against a ₹241 crore demand raised by mining authorities for an alleged shortfall in Chrome Ore dispatch from its Sukinda Chromite Block. The demand, issued on October 3, 2025, cited a violation of Rule 12A of the Minerals Concession Rules, 2016. Tata Steel filed a Writ Petition on October 29, 2025, seeking to quash the Demand Letter. The court has restrained authorities from taking coercive action against Tata Steel until the next hearing on December 3, 2025.
