Vedanta Secures 152-Hectare Manganese Mine in Andhra Pradesh
$VEDL has been declared the successful bidder for the Punnam Manganese Block in Andhra Pradesh through an e-auction held by the Department of Mines & Geology. The block, currently at the G4 stage of exploration, will allow Vedanta to expand its mineral resource portfolio in the region following this competitive electronic bidding process. Vedanta's transition to successful bidder status for the Punnam block is another brick in its resource diversification wall. While early-stage exploration means revenue contribution is years away, it positions Vedanta as a key player in India's strategic mineral security. This win supports Vedanta's strategy of critical mineral vertical integration. By securing domestic manganese blocks, Vedanta aligns itself with India's Critical Mineral Mission, aimed at reducing dependence on imports.
