Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the cash market with purchases worth ₹502.63 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) made strong net investments of ₹6,425.16 crore. Despite the cash-market buying, FIIs remained net sellers across the derivatives segment, selling ₹257.94 crore in Index Futures, ₹4,347.46 crore in Index Options, ₹2,512.16 crore in Stock Futures and ₹1,037.64 crore in Stock Options. Indian equities ended lower amid a volatile session, with the Nifty declining 126.80 points, or 0.5%, to 24,207.75, while the Sensex slipped 183.15 points, or 0.2%, to 77,472.94. The India VIX fell 4.6% to 10.56, indicating a decline in near-term market volatility. Overall, strong DII buying provided support to the domestic market, although continued FII selling in derivatives remained a key overhang for sentiment.
