L&T Bags Major Battery Storage Order in Middle East

sen & Toubro’s renewable-energy business has secured a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) order in the Middle East, strengthening its presence in the rapidly growing energy-storage sector. The company classifies orders worth ₹5,000–10,000 crore as “Major” orders. The project reflects rising demand for large-scale battery storage as renewable-energy capacity expands. BESS technology helps manage fluctuations in solar and wind generation while enhancing grid stability and reliability. The order further expands L&T’s portfolio across renewable energy, power infrastructure and energy-transition projects, while reinforcing the Middle East’s growing importance as a market for clean-energy infrastructure.
