Indian benchmark indices trimmed part of their early losses but continued to trade in negative territory, with the Nifty hovering below the 24,200 mark. Gains in

and Maruti Suzuki. Midcap and smallcap indices remained largely flat. Market Update: The Sensex was lower by 500 points at 77,650, while the Nifty 50 declined 150 points to 24,200. Market breadth remained positive, with advancing shares outnumbering decliners. Among sectoral indices, Media and Metal were the top performers, while Banking stocks remained under pressure, keeping the broader market subdued.
