Sensex Gains 564 Points, Nifty Ends Above 23,400

Indian Stock Market: Benchmark indices ended higher on Monday, supported by softer crude oil prices, renewed foreign fund buying and firm global markets. The Sensex rose 564.03 points, or 0.76%, to 74,858.99, while the Nifty gained 67.90 points, or 0.29%, to 23,414.30. Key Factors Behind the Market Rise 1. Easing Crude Oil Prices: Brent crude declined 2.25% to around $101.50 a barrel, amid hopes of a recovery in shipments from Saudi Arabia, easing concerns over input costs. 2. Foreign Fund Buying: Foreign investors turned buyers after seven consecutive sessions of selling, purchasing Indian equities worth around ₹599 crore. Domestic institutions also maintained their buying momentum, investing more than ₹1,000 crore. 3. Positive Global Cues: Asian markets traded higher, led by gains in South Korea, China and Hong Kong, while US equities also ended mostly positive in the previous session. Strength in semiconductor stocks further supported global sentiment. 4. Value Buying: Investors picked up stocks at lower levels after the Sensex and Nifty recorded their sixth consecutive weekly decline last week, encouraging bargain hunting and short-covering. Market View: Despite the rebound, overall sentiment remained cautious after the prolonged market decline, with investors closely tracking global cues, crude prices and institutional flows.
