$BHARATFORG
Bharat Forge is expected to remain in focus after securing a ₹425-crore contract from the Ministry of Defence to supply Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) for the Indian Navy's Kolkata-class destroyers. The contract, awarded under the Buy (Indian) category of the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2020, will be executed over the next five years. The 1.25 MW GTGs will replace the lower-capacity generators currently installed on the warships, enhancing onboard power generation capabilities. The project also marks Bharat Forge's entry into the marine gas turbine segment and will lead to the deployment of the first indigenously developed gas turbine-based power plant on Indian Naval vessels. In a separate development, Bharat Forge's wholly owned subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), recently signed a strategic partnership with US-based AM General to jointly develop next-generation mounted artillery gun platforms aimed at global defence markets.
