Hyundai Motor India Ltd. SHARE JUMP OVER 2%

HYUNDAI
Hyundai Motor India shares rose over 2 percent in early trading on Wednesday, ranking among the top gainers on the Nifty 100 after its South Korean parent, Hyundai Motor Group, announced a $15.5 billion investment plan for India through 2032. The investment will focus on expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening research and development, and supporting other strategic initiatives as the automaker seeks to deepen its presence in the world’s third-largest automobile market. Shares of Hyundai Motor India gained 2.4 percent to reach Rs 2,011, extending the previous session’s 1.2 percent rise ahead of the investment announcement. Despite the recent gains, the stock has declined 13.7 percent so far in 2026, compared with a 13 percent fall in the Nifty 50. The company’s market capitalisation stood at Rs 1.62 lakh crore. On Tuesday, Hyundai Motor Group announced a seven-year investment programme spanning 2026 to 2032 to expand its manufacturing operations and technological capabilities in India. The plan includes an investment of around $700 million in its Indian research and development centre, increased production capacity, a vehicle testing track, and the creation of a dedicated investment entity. Hyundai Motor Group currently has an annual production capacity of more than 1.4 million vehicles in India. This includes 824,000 units at Hyundai’s Chennai facilities, 170,000 units at its Pune plant, and 431,000 units at Kia’s Anantapur facility. The group plans to expand production capacity at the Pune plant in phases while further developing India as a key global hub for automotive manufacturing and exports.
