Indraprastha Gas Ltd climbed nearly 4 percent in early trade today after the company announced its fourth CNG price hike of the year. The stock rose 3.92 percent to ₹166.77 on May 26, according to NSE data. IGL increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices in Delhi by ₹2 per kg, effective from 6 am on Tuesday. The company informed customers that the revised rates had come into force across the national capital from Tuesday morning. Following the latest revision, consumers in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida will now pay ₹91.70 per kg for CNG, while prices in Gurugram have risen to ₹88.12 per kg. In Ajmer, CNG rates have been revised to ₹92.44 per kg. The price hike comes amid heightened volatility in global energy markets as tensions in West Asia continue with no clear resolution in sight. Supplies of natural gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are also under pressure due to disruptions in key global maritime trade routes. The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy corridors, handles nearly 20 percent of global Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trade. Any disruption in the region can significantly affect the transportation of natural gas and other energy commodities across international markets.
