Toyota Kirloskar Motor today announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, with production slated to begin in the first half of 2029. Although the company did not reveal the investment amount, Japanese media reports suggest that parent company Toyota Motor Corporation is expected to invest around 300 billion yen (approximately USD 1.9 billion) to expand its production capacity in India. According to TKM, the upcoming vehicle manufacturing plant will be located in the Bidkin Industrial Area. The facility is intended to strengthen Toyota’s business presence in the Indian market. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles and is projected to create nearly 2,800 jobs. Toyota also plans to manufacture a new SUV model at the facility, which will include key operations such as stamping, welding, painting, and assembly.
