National Aluminium Company (NALCO) are expected to remain in focus after the company signed a Joint Venture-cum-Shareholders' Agreement (JVA) with NLC India to establish a 50:50 joint venture for the development of a 1,080 MW (4x270 MW) thermal captive power plant at Angul, Odisha. As per the agreement, NALCO and NLC India will each hold a 50 percent equity stake in the joint venture company. The project will operate under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), under which NALCO will procure 100 percent of the electricity generated. Meanwhile, NLC India will supply coal through a long-term Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) at Coal India’s notified prices. On the market front, NALCO shares ended the previous trading session at Rs 349.75, gaining Rs 7.25 or 2.12 percent. The stock has touched a 52-week high of Rs 445.10 on April 27, 2026, and a 52-week low of Rs 180.10 on August 4, 2025. At the current market price, the stock is trading 21.42 percent below its 52-week high and has surged 94.20 percent from its 52-week low. NALCO currently commands a market capitalisation of Rs 64,236.20 crore.
