RELIANCE

Reliance Industries Ltd is rapidly expanding its new energy portfolio, with a strong push into green ammonia, battery storage, and solar power. The growth is being driven by large-scale agreements with major buyers, particularly in the green ammonia segment. The company has secured a major deal with Samsung C&T Corp. to supply green ammonia under a $3 billion contract spanning 15 years, with deliveries expected to begin in the latter half of FY29. Reliance noted that its green ammonia production aligns with the government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. This project is a key pillar of Reliance’s renewable energy strategy. Located in Jamnagar, the complex will also house solar module manufacturing and a 20 GWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery storage facility, both expected to be commissioned in phases over the coming years. Development of the 40 GWp battery energy storage system (BESS) and battery cell manufacturing unit is advancing quickly. Equipment has already been installed on-site, and commissioning is set to begin progressively throughout the year.
