On Friday JSW Motors and Tata Elxsi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic partnership, announcing the creation of the JNEXT – JSW NextGen Technology Centre in Pune. According to the companies, the new centre will function as an engineering hub focused on building connected platforms for new energy vehicles, including electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models. It will emphasize software-defined mobility and AI-driven solutions, in line with the industry’s transition toward connected and electrified transportation. The JNEXT facility will collaborate closely with JSW Motors’ R&D, manufacturing, and leadership teams. Tata Elxsi will take charge of developing the connected vehicle platform as well as a unified customer experience application for future vehicle programmes. Its role will span the entire lifecycle—from concept and system integration to production and after sales support—working alongside a broader partner ecosystem. JSW Motors said it is enthusiastic about the partnership, noting that the new centre will play a key role in advancing its upcoming vehicle programmes. The company added that Tata Elxsi’s expertise in software-defined vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electrification, and digital engineering will help speed up development while enhancing quality, safety, and innovation.
