Zydus Lifesciences has announced a strategic 50:50 joint venture with Sunshine Healthcare Lanka to establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka. The new venture, Zydus Sunshine Lifesciences, will involve an investment of over US$20 million (around ₹170 crore) and aims to strengthen local drug manufacturing, reduce Sri Lanka's dependence on pharmaceutical imports, and improve access to affordable medicines in the region. The announcement has been viewed positively by investors as it reinforces Zydus Lifesciences' international expansion strategy and commitment to growing its manufacturing footprint across emerging markets.
