Acquire Kelvinator a Eletronic giant

has acquired the Kelvinator consumer durables brand from Electrolux (Sweden) for approximately ₹160 crore, marking a significant move to deepen its presence in India’s fast-growing appliances market. Kelvinator, known for refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and air coolers, had previously been licensed and manufactured under Electrolux, but now the brand is wholly owned by Reliance Retail. Electrolux reported a gain of 180 million Swedish crowns (about USD 18.5 million) from the sale. This acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail’s strategy—already strong in electronics through its Reliance Digital outlets—to expand and consolidate its footprint in the consumer durables segment.
