Avenue Supermarts Q2: Results Meet Chart Support

DMART
(DMart) reported Q2 FY27 revenue of Rs 19,644 crore, up 17.8%, while net profit rose 8.5% to Rs 743 crore. Margins eased, with net margin at 3.8% against 4.1% a year earlier and EBITDA margin at 7.1% against 7.3%. The company pointed to entry-level wage inflation, and the numbers show higher employee costs (+18.7%) and finance costs (+82.8%). On the positive side, revenue growth at stores older than two years rose to 9.5% from 6.8%, and the company added 15 stores to reach 518. DMart Ready has been scaled back to 11 cities from 19, and no forward guidance was given (Source: BigGo Finance). The weekly chart gives the market context. The stock closed the week 7.77% lower at 3,516.80, ahead of the results, below both the 50-week and 200-week averages (3,984.70 and 4,037.70), with RSI at 36.12. It now sits near the 3,250-3,350-support zone that has been tested several times since 2022, while a falling trendline from the 2024 highs presses from above. Resistance: 3,800-3,850, then 3,985-4,038. Support: 3,400, then 3,350-3,250. With results out after the weekend, how price behaves around 3,430-3,450 once trading resumes will be the thing to watch. Holding it would keep the long-standing base intact, while a sustained break would put the lower support zone in focus. When results arrive just as price reaches a long-tested support, the reaction at that level carries more weight than the headline numbers alone.
