Adani Enterprises Shares Surge 2%, Jaiprakash Power Jumps 8% on NCLT Nod for JAL Acquisition

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved

ADANIENT
rprises' resolution plan to acquire bankrupt Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL), clearing the path for the Adani Group to take control of the debt-laden infrastructure giant. The plan, valued at approximately ₹14,535 crore, outbid competitors like Vedanta and was earlier backed by creditors in November 2025. Market reaction was positive: Adani Enterprises shares rose around 2%, while Jaiprakash Power Ventures surged 8%, reflecting investor optimism. JAL boasts high-quality assets across real estate (including vast land banks in NCR), cement manufacturing, hospitality, power generation, and engineering & construction sectors. This strategic acquisition strengthens Adani's portfolio in real estate and infrastructure, particularly in northern India, unlocking revival potential for JAL's diversified businesses.
