Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Appoints Hemen Bhatia as Head of Passives

$ABSLAMC irla Sun Life Asset Management Company (ABSL AMC) has appointed industry veteran Hemen Bhatia as Head of Passives and Senior Management Personnel, effective June 23, 2026. The Board approved the move via circular resolution on June 22. Bhatia brings over 20 years of experience in ETFs and passive investing. Most recently, he served as Executive Director and CEO of Angel One AMC, where he built the firm’s passive-focused business. Previously, he led the ETF vertical at Nippon Life India AMC, was part of the founding team at Benchmark AMC (India’s first ETF issuer), and played a key role in launching the CPSE ETF at Goldman Sachs AMC. At ABSL AMC, Bhatia will drive strategy and growth for index funds and ETFs, focusing on product expansion, liquidity enhancement, and broader investor outreach. He holds a Master’s in Management Studies (Finance) from Mumbai University.
