Airtel Africa Profit Surges Over Two-Fold to $813 Million in FY26

el’s African subsidiary, Airtel Africa, reported a significant jump in profitability, with net profit more than doubling to USD 813 million (approximately Rs 7,700 crore) for the fiscal year 2026. The robust performance was primarily driven by strategic tariff adjustments in Nigeria and favourable foreign exchange gains, the company said in a statement on Friday. This strong growth underscores Airtel Africa’s improving operational efficiency and ability to navigate challenging macroeconomic conditions across its markets. The telecom operator has been focusing on expanding its digital services and customer base while optimising costs in the region. The impressive results are expected to further strengthen parent company Bharti Airtel’s overall consolidated performance for the year.
