AMC Stocks Gain on Stable SIP Data

Mutual fund company stocks saw a significant rise following the release of AMFI data, which revealed steady Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) inflows despite global economic uncertainties. Nippon Life India Asset Management Company led the surge, climbing over 5% to ₹555. HDFC AMC shares also jumped nearly 5% to ₹3,976, while Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC rose over 2% to ₹634. The positive movement was driven by the resilience of SIP inflows, which remained robust, showing only a slight decline from the previous month. This stability occurred despite a drop in overall equity mutual fund inflows, attributed to global market jitters related to potential tariffs. Other financial stocks also benefited, with Motilal Oswal Financial Services increasing by over 3% to ₹594 and Angel One rising over 2% to ₹2,275. However, UTI Asset Management Company bucked the trend, experiencing marginal losses. While new SIP registrations declined slightly, the number of stopped SIPs also decreased, suggesting a mixed picture. The overall market reaction, however, was positive, reflecting investor confidence in the sustained flow of SIP investments into mutual funds.
