Bajaj Auto Shares Climb 2.5% on Strong August Sales, Lift Nifty Auto Index

Auto Ltd. shares rose 2.5% on September 1, 2025, after the company reported a 5% year-on-year increase in total vehicle sales for August, reaching 417,616 units. This marked the strongest monthly sales growth in three months, driven primarily by a 25% surge in two-wheeler exports, which hit 157,778 units—the highest since November 2024. However, domestic two-wheeler sales fell 12% to 184,109 units, marking a third consecutive month of decline. Overall, two-wheeler dispatches grew 2% to 341,887 units, with exports accounting for 46% of sales, up from 38% a year ago. By 11:05 AM IST, Bajaj Auto shares traded 2.36% higher at Rs 8,835, contributing to a 1% gain in the Nifty Auto index at 25,206, snapping its three-day losing streak.
