BSE and Angel One Shares Surge Ahead of SEBI Board Meeting

Shares of

BSE
d. and
ANGELONE
d. rose by up to 2.5% on September 12, 2025, as investors awaited the outcome of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) board meeting scheduled for the same day. The meeting is anticipated to address significant regulatory changes, including proposals to shift derivative expiries and introduce measures to ease business operations. According to a report by Jefferies, the market has already priced in a potential shift to fortnightly expiries with separate settlement days for the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE. However, such a change could significantly impact the industry. Jefferies estimates that index options' notional Average Daily Turnover (ADTO) could decline by 55%, while the Premium Average Daily Turnover might fall by 45%. Despite BSE maintaining a stable market share of 29% in August, Jefferies projects a 38% drop in BSE’s options revenue for the financial year 2027, leading to a 22% decline in consolidated revenue and a 21% reduction in net profit.
