BSE Shares Surge on SEBI Approval for Sensex Next 30 Derivatives

Shares of

BSE
d rose sharply today following the receipt of approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to introduce derivative contracts on the BSE Sensex Next 30 index. The BSE Sensex Next 30 index comprises the next 30 largest and most liquid companies from the BSE 100 universe that are part of the derivatives segment but excluded from the flagship BSE Sensex 30. Under the approval, BSE will offer cash-settled monthly index futures and monthly index options. Contracts will expire on the last Thursday of the respective expiry month. The regulatory filing was made after market hours on March 4, boosting investor sentiment toward the exchange's expanding derivatives offerings. While a specific launch date for the new F&O contracts was not disclosed, the development strengthens BSE's position in the competitive derivatives market.
