Canara Bank Board Greenlights Rs 9,500 Crore Fundraise via Debt Instruments

’s board has approved a capital raising plan of up to Rs 9,500 crore for FY 2025-26 through debt instruments, as announced in a regulatory filing on June 12, 2025. The plan includes raising Rs 3,500 crore via Basel III Compliant Additional Tier I Bonds, subject to market conditions and necessary approvals, with the remainder to be raised through Additional Tier I and Tier II Bonds. This follows the bank’s recent declaration of a 200% dividend payout for shareholders. On June 12, Canara Bank shares closed at Rs 115.70 on the BSE, down 1.20% from the previous close of Rs 117.10, with an intraday trading range of Rs 117.70 to Rs 115.20.
