ia Limited (CIL), the country's largest coal producer, has taken a significant step toward listing its wholly owned subsidiary by filing the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), along with the BSE and NSE.
The RHP, dated March 12, 2026, relates to the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL), a key consultancy arm of Coal India. The IPO will consist entirely of an Offer for Sale (OFS) of up to 107,100,000 equity shares (10.71 crore shares) by the promoter, Coal India Limited. There is no fresh issue component, meaning CMPDIL itself will not receive any proceeds from the offering. The funds raised will go directly to Coal India.
This development follows the earlier filing of the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI on May 26, 2025. The filing of the RHP marks progress in the IPO process, subject to regulatory approvals, market conditions, and other considerations.
According to recent updates, the CMPDIL IPO is scheduled to open for public subscription on March 20, 2026, and close on March 24, 2026. Anchor investor bidding is expected to take place on March 18, 2026. The equity shares, with a face value of ₹2 each, are proposed to be listed on the BSE and NSE.
The book-running lead managers and other intermediaries, including the registrar (KFin Technologies Limited), are involved in the process. Further details, such as the price band, lot size, and bidding requirements, will be finalized and disclosed in due course.#IPO#Miscellaneous#PersonalFinance#MacroViews
