Cognizant Moves to Dismiss Infosys Counterclaims in Ongoing TriZetto IP Battle
Teaneck, New Jersey-headquartered Cognizant Technology Solutions has urged a U.S. federal court to dismiss the amended counterclaims filed by rival Infosys in their protracted legal dispute over the TriZetto healthcare software platform, calling the allegations legally flawed and unsubstantiated.
In a motion filed on November 20, 2025, Cognizant argued that Infosys has failed to cure “fundamental defects” in its antitrust counterclaims, particularly the absence of evidence showing harm to competition across the broader market—a requirement Cognizant says is essential for such claims to survive.
The Nasdaq-listed company also requested the court to stay all antitrust-related discovery by Infosys pending a ruling on the dismissal motion, aiming to halt what it describes as an attempt to reframe standard intellectual property enforcement as anticompetitive conduct.
The latest filing escalates a multi-year legal fight between two of India’s largest IT services exporters.
