Deepak Nitrite Shares Drop 5% After Disappointing Q1FY26 Results

DEEPAKNTR
ite Ltd., a leading Indian chemical manufacturer, saw its share price decline by 5% following the release of its Q1FY26 financial results, which revealed a significant downturn in performance. The stock has now fallen 28% year-to-date, reflecting investor concerns about the company's near-term outlook amid challenging market conditions. Financial Performance Highlights For the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 (April-June 2025), Deepak Nitrite reported a sharp 44.6% year-on-year decline in net profit, dropping to Rs 112 crore from Rs 202 crore in Q1FY25. Consolidated revenue also fell by 12.8%, totaling Rs 1,893 crore compared to Rs 2,171 crore in the same quarter last year. The company's operating performance was equally strained, with EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) plummeting 38.8% to Rs 189.3 crore from Rs 309.4 crore in Q1FY25. This translated into a contraction of the EBITDA margin to 10%, down from 14.3% in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The margin squeeze was primarily driven by higher input costs and lower realizations, which eroded profitability across the company's operations. These challenges highlight the impact of volatile raw material prices and subdued demand in key markets.
