Delta Corp Shares Surge 15% Amid Goa Project Pause

DELTACORP
a Corp Ltd shares soared 15% on Wednesday, reaching a high of Rs 97 on the BSE, following news that the company has temporarily halted its ambitious Rs 2,000–2,500 crore integrated resort project in Dhargalim, North Goa. According to a media report citing Chairman Jaydev Mody, the decision stems from uncertainty surrounding potential changes in the Centre’s GST framework for integrated projects involving gaming, hospitality, and entertainment. In its August 13 annual report, Delta Corp confirmed it holds all necessary approvals for the 88-acre project, strategically located near the new international airport at Dhargalim. The proposed development includes 5-star hotels, an electronic casino, a theme park, a retail complex, an expo center, a multiplex, gaming zones, and family-friendly attractions. However, the company stated that the project remains on hold until regulatory clarity on the GST framework is achieved, with timelines and investment decisions to follow. Despite the pause, Delta Corp emphasized that the Dhargalim project remains a cornerstone of its long-term strategic vision, signaling confidence in its future growth potential. The market's positive response reflects investor optimism about the company’s prudent approach amid regulatory uncertainties.
