Dixon Technologies Shares Surge Up to 6% on MeitY Approval for JV with HKC Overseas

nologies (India) Ltd rose as much as 6% in early trading today after the company received approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to form a joint venture with China's HKC Overseas Ltd. The approval, granted under Press Note 3 of 2020, allows HKC Overseas to invest in Dixon's wholly-owned subsidiary, Dixon Display Technologies Pvt Ltd (DDTPL). Post-transaction, Dixon will hold a 74% stake, while HKC Overseas will own 26%. The JV aims to manufacture advanced display modules, including TFT-LCD and liquid crystal modules, for smartphones, TVs, monitors, and automotive applications. This move strengthens India's electronics manufacturing ecosystem by reducing import dependence and boosting local production under the 'Make in India' initiative.
