DMart Faces Analyst Skepticism Despite Strong Q4 Results

DMART
Despite reporting robust Q4 FY25 performance, DMart's stock is facing headwinds as analysts maintain a cautious outlook. The RK Damani-backed retail giant announced a 16.7% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue, reaching Rs 14,462 crore. Furthermore, the company expanded its footprint significantly, adding a record 28 new stores in the quarter, bringing its total store count to 415. However, this positive news has not swayed some analysts. Notably, Citi Research reiterated its 'Sell' rating on DMart, setting a target price of Rs 3,350 per share. This target implies a potential downside of over 19% from the stock's previous closing price of Rs 4,158. The discrepancy between DMart's strong quarterly performance and the bearish analyst sentiment suggests that factors beyond immediate results are influencing market perceptions. Concerns about future growth prospects, competitive pressures, or valuation metrics may be contributing to the cautious outlook. Investors are now weighing the company's solid operational performance against the analysts' concerns, leading to market volatility.
