FMCG Stocks Slide for Second Day as Q2 Outlook Dims
The Nifty FMCG index fell 0.53% to 54,763.85 on Tuesday, marking a two-day decline of over 0.7%. Major players like BRITANNIA es and TATACONSUM er Products led losses, each dropping nearly 2%, followed by Emami, United Spirits, and Dabur India with declines around 1%. Nestle India, HUL, ITC, Marico, and United Breweries also saw marginal losses. However, Radico Khaitan, Colgate Palmolive, Varun Beverages, and Godrej Consumer Products posted slight gains. Elara Capital cited monsoon disruptions and GST transition challenges as key factors clouding the sector’s Q2 earnings outlook.
