Technologies Ltd tumbled more than 8% in early trade on Tuesday, placing the stock among the top losers in the small-cap segment. The sharp decline followed news that founder and executive chairman Ashok Soota, along with Ashok Soota Medical Research LLP, has agreed to sell a 22.1% stake in the company to ITC Infotech.
The transaction is valued at ₹1,329.72 crore. Under the deal, ITC Infotech will acquire the shares from the promoters, marking a significant ownership shift in the mid-sized IT services firm.
Market participants reacted cautiously to the development. Investors appeared concerned about the change in promoter holding and the implications of a large stake transfer to a subsidiary of the diversified ITC group. Trading volumes rose as the stock came under selling pressure soon after the announcement.
Happiest Minds has built a reputation in digital engineering and cloud services. The stake sale is being viewed as a strategic move that could eventually lead to closer business alignment or further corporate restructuring involving ITC Infotech.
