Asset Management Company fell nearly 3% on Monday after the firm disclosed a cybersecurity incident that occurred on May 16.
In a regulatory filing, HDFC AMC said it received a communication from an anonymous source claiming unauthorised access to certain portions of its IT infrastructure. The company immediately activated containment protocols and incident response measures. It has also engaged a specialised cybersecurity firm to thoroughly assess any potential impact.
" We have activated the necessary protocols for containment and incident response," the company stated. As of now, no evidence of large-scale data breach has been confirmed. The development comes amid growing concerns over cybersecurity threats in the Indian financial sector, triggering investor caution and contributing to the stock’s intraday decline.
