Hindustan Copper Jumps 7% as LME Copper Nears Record High

HINDCOPPER
er shares rose 7% to ₹566.50 on Monday after copper prices on the London Metal Exchange approached record levels amid a sharp supply squeeze. The metal’s spot price traded as much as $518.50 a tonne above three-month contracts—the widest gap since the 2021 market squeeze—signaling acute near-term tightness. Three-month futures climbed 1.7% to $14,396 a tonne, nearing the all-time high of $14,527.50 and extending a seven-week rally. Copper has gained nearly 16% this year, boosted by heavy US-bound shipments ahead of possible tariffs and low LME inventories near 200,000 tonnes. Cable and wire stocks also advanced, with Finolex Cables up 5.25%, KEI Industries 2.5%, and Polycab 1.24%.
